Memorandum of Understanding
Regarding the Establishment of
MISA/ASIM Canada

municipale Canada 

The undersigned representatives of those organizations identified below acknowledge to one another and agree as follows:

• We have engaged in a series of teleconferences since October 25, 2004, to discuss the general framework under which a national association could be formed to further the work of our associations and promote the seamless delivery of e-government services.

• We support the establishment and incorporation of an organization to be called MISA/ASIM Canada. We agree that it should be based on the mission, principles and governance structure described in the MISA/ASIM Canada By-laws and Operations Manual.

• The representatives shall seek the agreement of their associations to join MISA/ASIM Canada as defined above, and to have such membership affirmed in writing by the end of May, 2006.

The representatives are members of the following associations:

• Municipal Information Systems Association, British Columbia ( MISA BC), including the three Territories
• Municipal Information Systems Association, Prairies (MISA Prairie)
• Municipal Information Systems Association, Ontario (MISA Ontario)
• Réseau de l’Informatique Municipale du Québec (RIMQ)
• Municipal Information Systems Association, Atlantic Canada (MISA Atlantic)

The representatives acknowledge and agree with one another that the foregoing accurately describes their collective thinking and agreement.
